Support the Mission of Saving More Children's Lives
POGS brings together hospitals, surgeons, and donors through a shared commitment to expanding access to lifesaving pediatric surgical care worldwide.
How Hospitals Can Participate in POGS
You work every day to help children here in North America. This is the first program that allows North American hospitals to help children in developing countries through life-saving surgical training. There is no cost to the hospital, just a willingness to welcome surgeons that want to learn the advanced surgical procedures and return to their countries to reduce child suffering and save lives.
Opportunities for Surgeons Seeking Advanced Training
Applications are accepted through partner institutions and affiliated medical organizations as well as directly with POGS. Selection is based on clinical qualifications, home‑country needs, track record, and commitment to return and to knowledge transfer.
Supporting a Skills-Based Approach to Saving Children’s Lives
Your support directly funds the training of surgeons from developing countries right here in North American hospitals. There is simply no more efficient and effective way to reduce suffering and save children’s lives in the most difficult places on Earth.
With POGS, no money is sent to developing countries. Funds are entirely dedicated to bringing surgeons here to receive advanced surgical training and sending them back home, where their newly acquired knowledge directly translates into operations that could not be done before within their countries.
Rather than providing money, supplies, or short‑term interventions, the program invests directly in knowledge and expertise which are the greatest needs in developing countries.
By training doctors, we ensure that philanthropic capital translates directly into lasting solutions that save lives.
