Advancing Pediatric Surgery
in the Developing World
POGS allows surgeons from developing countries to receive training and return home with the expertise required to save children’s lives and strengthen local care.
Bringing Advanced Surgery to Those Who Need It Most
PartnerOne Global Surgery (POGS) is a global non-profit organization dedicated to advancing pediatric surgical care in underserved regions of the world. Our organization partners with leading North American hospitals to deliver advanced, structured training to surgeons from developing countries.
Surgeons from low and middle-income countries are selected through a rigorous process and placed into 6 or 12-month training programs in hospitals in the US and Canada where they receive a fast-track training in cutting-edge pediatric surgical techniques, patient safety, and ethical clinical practice.
Saving as Many Lives as Possible
Training programs are chosen based on the specific needs of each surgeon’s home country, ensuring that the skills acquired will have the greatest possible impact.
When fellows return home equipped with cutting-edge surgical knowledge, they do far more than treat individual patients. They become educators and leaders—training additional surgeons, improving hospital standards, and expanding access to care for thousands of children over time.
Growing Medical Capacity in Developing Countries
This creates exponential growth in medical capacity in developing countries that would otherwise take generations to develop. Transferring cutting-edge surgical know‑how provides a direct and immediate impact on saving children’s lives. By also passing on this expertise to more surgeons in their countries, we ensure that children benefit not just today, but for decades to come.
POGS is a nonprofit organization founded by PartnerOne, established with an initial $10 million commitment and positioned to secure substantial additional funding from multiple philanthropic partners.
